The Glove Theatre in Gloversville, NY, Ovi Vargas Artistic Director,  
Emily Grant Executive Director,  is casting the first production of  
the 2007 season. THE NERD by Larry Shue Directed by Ovi Vargas.

THE NERD is a 7 character comedy (5 Males 2 Females) Scheduled to  
open April 26th and run through May 6th.

Anyone interested in auditioning please bring a one minute monologue  
and be prepare to read from the script if asked.

Auditions are the GLOVE THEATRE 40 North Main Street in Gloversville,  
New York on the Main Stage. Open call is Friday March 30th From 7PM  
to 10PM and & Saturday March 31st from 10AM to 2PM.

With final call backs (Invited only call ) on Sunday April 1st from  
1PM to 5PM

Please note this is a very physically demanding comedy bordering at  
times on slapstick with a very short rehearsal period. Please be  
advised that this will be a very intense and demanding 3 1/2 weeks.

The character breakdowns are as follows:


WILLUM CUBBERT

M, celebrating his 34th birthday, architect, lacking in gumption,  
sweet, vulnerable. A classic good guy.

TANSY McGINNIS

F, Willum's girlfriend, Strong willed, loving, protective.

AXEL HAMMOND

M, Willum's sardonic friend, theater critic, manipulating, crafty,  
aloof with a wicked sense of humor, incorrigible, a real rascal.

WARNOCK "Ticky" WALDGRAVE

M, Willum's client; "The last time Mr. Waldgrave smiled was forty- 
seven years ago, and then it was gas." A hard-ass, no nonsense, hard  
to please brass tax kind of guy.

CLELIA WALDGRAVE,

F, Warnock's wife, "a picture of tasteful, studied patience, but not  
because her life is devoid of anxiety." A woman holding back many  
years of suffering in silence.

THOR WALDGRAVE

M, 8 years old, "there are good little boys; there are also  
precocious little boys, which is to say bad little boys whom we can  
somehow find it in our hearts to forgive. Thor is neither. Thor is a  
monster..."

RICK STEADMAN

M, Willum's fellow Vietnam veteran, a clumsy oaf of a bespectacled  
nerd and a house guest from Hell.
