>From the Northway to Exit 9 West Route 146.  Turn left at Moe Road (2nd
light AFTER the Mall area).  Turn right at Clifton Park Center Road
(light);  make first left at Hemlock and
a quick right on Rosewood.      That will put you in the parking lot of
Locust Lane Clubhouse.
                                    From Schenectady etc:  Take Route
146 East to the intersection of 146 & 146A.  Turn right onto Vischer
Ferry Rd. At
the light, turn left onto Clifton Park Center Rd; turn right onto
Beechwood and then left onto Locust
Lane.

Clifton Park: Not So Common Players announces auditions for Red, Hot and
Cole on Sunday, June 10th 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm   and Monday, June 11th
7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Locust Lane Clubhouse.. Performance dates are:
October 26, 27, 28 & November 2, 3, 4 at the Shen Little Theater
 
Red, Hot & Cole will be directed by Alan Angelo with musical direction
by Vince Bonnefede. 
 
What a swell party this is!  A scintillating mixture of biography and
song. celebrate the  rich, masterful genius of Cole Porter who brought
style, elegance and sophistication to the world with his devilishly
clever rhymes, fresh and unexpected melodies and sassy, sexy
sensibility. 
 
Red Hot & Cole bubbles with songs that have become international
standards, from such classic shows and movies as Anything Goes, Kiss Me
Kate, High Society and Can-Can. It traces Porter's life from his
childhood in Indiana to the stages and penthouses of New York, London,
Paris and Venice. Song highlights include "I Get a Kick Out of You,"
"Let's Misbehave," "In the Still of the Night," "It's De-Lovely," "Begin
the Beguine" and "Friendship."
 
Bring sheet music and be prepared to sing 16 bars of a song from a
Broadway musical.  Accompanist provided.  No a capella singing accepted.
Resume and photo desireable, but not required.

COLE PORTER. Should have elfin, eternally youthful quailty and ability
to suggest the span of ages from 20-70 (w/minimal make-up use), quick,
open, some piano skills helpful, but not necessary. 
30's-40's Baritone

 
PAUL (Cole's valet), YOUNG MAN. Young, attractive, sensitive actor with
some dance skills.   Lyric Tenor

 
CLIFTON WEBB, GEORGE KAUFMAN, SAM KATZ, NOEL COWARD, English Soldier,
Doctor, Drunk. Versatile actor, ability to play debonair and
sophisticated as well as crass, vocally capable of doing          patter
songs.  40's-50's Baritone

 
PHOTOGRAPHER, Others. Dancer-singer/tap/jazz  Baritone

 
MOSS HART, BEGUINE PARTNER. Strong tap, jazz and ballet, with Astaire
quailty. Baritone

 
MONTY WOOLLEY, RAY GOETZ. Strong character actor with good comic flair,
perhaps a bit on the hefty side. 
Late 30's-late 40's Baritone

 
WAITER. Young, versatile actor functioning as hired help
 and various other small roles. Mid 20's-30's  Baritone

 
ELSA MAXWELL, ETHEL MERMAN. Strong singer-comedienne
with larger-than-life presence, more physically suited to
Ethel/able to contrast 'affected' Elsa with 'brassy' Ethel.  
Mezzo-Soprano

 
IRENE CASTLE, BEGUINE PARTNER. tap, jazz, and ballroom, 
good singing voice. 

 
SARA MURPHY, DOROTHY PARKER, HEDDA HOPPER, BELLA
SPEWACK. Strong 'Bourbon-voiced' singer and strong actress, 
sharp and cynical. Mezzo-Soprano

 
LINDA (LEE THOMAS) PORTER. Beautiful, naturally 
sophisticated--not an ingenue. Can be taller than Cole 
Porter as they are not necessarily the 'perfect' couple. 
Late 30's-40's Soprano

 
BRICKTOP. dancer/singer with jazzy sense of movement 
and vocal style. Mid 20's - Late 30's Mezzo-Soprano

 
STARLET. Dancer who sings with jazz, ballet and tap.
