[Capdist-auditions] Musical Director for Short Revue

Siena College Creative Arts and the Stage III campus club are seeking a
musical director for an upcoming musical revue/variety show entitled ³It
Ain¹t Easy Being Green.²

³Being Green² is a 60 ­ 80 minute variety show with eclectic musical numbers
and short comedy sketches all wrapped around a theme: green.   The issues,
the politics, the colorŠeverything green.
 
We need a very versatile musical director who can work as a part of a
process where original arrangements are created with the cast, sometimes
using found objects as instruments.  This musical director should be
completely comfortable with ³hum a few bars and I can fake it.²  This
musical director must also be the keyboard anchor for the ³orchestra² during
the performances. The musical numbers will range in style from traditional:
³Greensleeves² to hip-hop: ³Feel Good Inc.² by Gorillaz.  From R & B: ³Green
Onions² to   Sesame Street:  ³It¹s Not Easy Being Green² of Kermit the Frog
and Frank Sinatra fame.  There will also be a good deal of underscoring for
the sketches and transitions.
  
Rehearsals start October 12 and the show opens November 14 and runs until
November 23.  

This is certain to be a unique and exciting experience for everyone
involved.  Maybe it will even inspire some folks to become more green.
