Mr. Warren G. May, Sr., of Johnstown, passed away on
> Saturday, November 29, 2008, at Cape Cod Hospital in
> Hyannis, MA.  He was born Jan. 11, 1920 in the Bronx, N.Y.
> the son of Walter H. and Julia Soos May.  He graduated from
> high school in N.Y. City and received a B.S. and Masters
> degrees in education and accounting from N.Y. University. 
> Mr. May moved to Johnstown in 1952 and was first employed,
> for several years, at Treher and Jung in Gloversville and
> for 27 years was employed by Contel, retiring in 1983.  In
> 1950 he was united in marriage to the former Janet Christie
> and she survives.  Warren was a 50 year member of the First
> Presbyterian Church of Johnstown and had served as a Deacon
> of the church.  He was a 50 year member of St. Patrick's
> Lodge #4 F. & A.M., served as Master in 1971 and for
> many years was Secretary.  In 1983, he was named Director of
> Ceremonies for the Grand Lodge of the State of N.Y.  Mr. 
> May was also a member of the Scottish Rite, Cyprus Temple
> Shrine and the Adirondack Shrine Club.  He was a member and
> Past Patron of St. Monica Chapter #486 O.E.S. and also
