NYSTI ANNOUNCES ANNUAL OPEN CALL AUDITIONS 
FOR CAPITAL DISTRICT REGION ACTORS


2008-2009 Season Auditions for Adults and Children
Troy – NYSTI, the New York State Theatre Institute, will hold its annual open call auditions for adult actors 18 years of age and older and children ages 8-12 from the Greater Capital District Region on Monday, July 21 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the James L. Meader Little Theater on the Russell Sage College Campus in Troy.  Interested actors may contact NYSTI’s Associate Producing Director at olgadelorey at nysti.org or at 518-274-3200 for information.  No appointment is necessary.  Equity and non-Equity may apply.  These are screening auditions for NYSTI’s entire 2008-09 season.  

Audition Preparation
All actors should prepare a memorized monologue of 1 to 2 minutes in length and bring a headshot and resume.  Actor/singers who would like to be considered for NYSTI’s musicals should prepare 16 bars of a song and bring sheet music.  An accompanist will be provided.  Children ages 8 to 12 are needed only for the musical Orphan Train.  Singing will be required.

NYSTI’s 2008-09 Season
NYSTI’s season includes two musicals: Orphan Train and Yours, Anne; two straight plays: Twelve Angry Jurors and Of Mice and Men; a comedy The Philadelphia Story, and a Japanese styled version of Sleeping Beauty.  


NYSTI’s rehearsals are held during regular workday hours, six days a week (Sunday through Friday).  Performances are scheduled six days a week, Tuesdays through Sundays, with 10 AM performances weekdays for school audiences in addition to Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 2 PM.
