[Capdist-auditions] Theatre for Young People

Auditions: Friday, June 27, 6 PM – 8 PM & Saturday, June 28, 1 PM – 4 PM
Actors: Come prepared with a comedic or dramatic monologue or short  
poem.
Writers: Bring a short sample of something you've written recently
Designers: Bring an example of something you've designed or made.


Last year’s free theater program for young people by young people is  
back this year and with some exciting changes.  Young people will  
work on a month-long creative collaboration based on the works of  
Carl Sandburg and Langston Hughes.  They will write, produce, direct,  
design, and star in their own production created through fun, guided  
theater exercises, hands-on applications of theater techniques, and  
deep exploration of their own imaginations.
As ever, the casting process is entirely open – every interested  
child will play a role and there’s even more opportunity this year  
for young people who want to explore some of the “behind-the-scenes”  
work of theater.
Rehearsals begin Tuesday July 8
Performances: Friday, August 8 @ 8:00 PM & Saturday August 9 @ 2 :00 PM
