ACC Theatre Program Invites Public to Audition for Roles in November 2009
Production of “Museum” by Tina Howe.

QUEENSBURY – The Adirondack Community College Theatre Department is inviting
members of the public to audition for roles in the Tina Howe play “Museum,”
scheduled to be presented at ACC November 19-22, 2009.
The cast of “Museum” consists of nine women and nine men, many of whom will
play a variety of different roles.
A meet and greet session with director Filomena Riviello will be held on
Thursday, Sept. 10, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the ACC Theater. Auditions for
specific roles will be held Monday, Sept. 14, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The ACC Theatre Program is participating in the Degas and Music event at the
Hyde Collection. The November production will bring to a close a year of
exhibits, performances, and lectures embracing the Hyde’s initial exhibit.
“We want to involve ACC students, members of the ACC community, and members of
the greater community” in this production, says Ruth Liberman, who oversees the
ACC Theatre Program. “We are looking for actors to play many roles of various
sizes with different age ranges that can accommodate busy lives.”
“Museum” takes place on the final day of a group show of three fictitious
contemporary American artists at a major museum of modern art. In the course of
the day, some forty people walk through the exhibit – art lovers, skeptics,
foreigners, students, lost souls, fellow artists, and museum guards.
The rehearsal schedule for “Museum” runs Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4
p.m. to 7 p.m. Community members will be called for rehearsals after 5:30 p.m.,
and rehearsal times will remain flexible.
The performances will be held in the ACC Theater Thursday, Friday and Saturday,
November 19, 20 and 21, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, November 22, at 2:30 p.m.
Perusal scripts are available at the ACC Library reserve desk and in the
Theatre Program office in the ACC Humanities Building, Room 104.
College credit is available for this experience as a humanities course, a
liberal arts course or a free elective. In addition to actors, members of the
crew, including stage manager, prop master, public relations coordinator,
costumer, and sound and lighting staff are also needed.
Filomena Riviello worked in New York City as a professional actress and
director for over 20 years. She has directed shows at ACC and for Our Town
Theatre Group.
For more information, please contact Ruth Liberman at 832-7620 or via email at
