The Schenectady Light Opera Company will be holding more auditions for  
The Pajama Game on Monday June 29, Tuesday June 30, and Wednesday July  
1st, beginning at 6:00 p.m.each night.  Director Jennifer S. Depew and  
producers Jodi Hebert and Regina Baker, along with Musical Director  
Malcolm Kogut and Choreographer Donna Hatch have announced these  
auditions which will be held at the Opera House, located at 826 State  
Street in Schenectady.  Production dates are October 16, 17, 18, 22,  
23, 24, and 25, 2009.  Rehearsals will begin mid to the end of July  
for 2-3 nights a week.  Rehearsals will go into full swing - four  
nights a week - beginning in early September - Monday, Wednesday,  
Friday (7:00-10:00 p.m.) and Sunday (6:00-9:00 p.m.)  We are  
especially looking to fill the male roles as well as the dancers and  
some ensemble members. 
 
Auditioners should prepare to sing 16 bars from a musical theater  
piece with sheet music.  An accompanist will be provided; no a  
cappella singing, self-accompanying or singing with an accompanying cd  
will be allowed.  Individuals auditioning will be asked to read scenes  
from the script and to learn a

The Pajama Game is set in the 1950s in a pajama factory. The new 
superintendent finds himself falling for a union leader, but at the 
same time finds himself at odds with her as they are in the middle 
of a labor dispute over a 7 1/2 cent raise. 
 
 
      Sid Sorokin (Baritone) Handsome new superintendent. 
      Babe Williams (Mezzo) Feisty union leader. 
      Hines (Baritone, comic role)  Funny time-study man with a jealous streak 
      Gladys (Alto)  Quick-witted bookeeper. A heavy dance role. 
      Prez (Tenor) Union president, woman chaser. 
      Mabel (Alto) Elder secretary 
      Other singing and non-singing roles.  All must be able to move well 
      and dancers will be utilized in several numbers.
