Auditions for the Ghent Playhouse's winter show, "The Compleat Works of William Shakespeare (abridged)" will be held Tuesday, Nov. 17 and Thursday, Nov. 19 at the Playhouse, located at 6 Town Hall Place in Ghent, N.Y. 

The show, a hilarious romp through ALL of Shakespeare's work, was created by the Reduced Shakespeare Company based in California. The Ghent production will be co-directed by Tony Pallone and Colleen Lovett, both veterans of area stage and film, who plan to take a great deal of liberty with the original script. 

(Note to those familiar with the play: Although the show is typically performed by three male actors, we may or may not limit ourselves in that way. Definitely don't let mere trivialities such as gender prevent you from auditioning!)

Sign-in begins at 7 p.m.; auditions at 7:30. Please prepare a one-minute monologue from Shakespeare (which can be done as comically, as tragically, or as crazily as you like); also be prepared to read from the script, to improvise, and to MOVE on stage. The show demands a high-energy cast that works together well as a dynamic ensemble.
