"Arms and the Man" is a satiric comedy dealing with love, war, and class.

It takes place in the 1885's in Bulgaria.or a sort of mythical Bulgaria -
during the Serbo-Bulgarian War.

Like many of Shaw's works, it questions conventional values - this time
targeting romantic notions of love and war.

Characters needed are:

Raina. . .

The heroine - a strong willed woman, ages between 18 and 30.

Sergius. . .

The "romantic" soldier model, ages between 18 and 30.

Bluntschli. . .

The "unromantic" soldier and the hero of the play, ages 20 to 40.

Louka. . .

The maid who has a heart and a desire to succeed, ages 18-30.

Nicola. . .

The quintessential man servant - ages 20-60.

Raina's mother. . .

ages 40-60.

Raina's father. . .

ages 40-60.

Soldier. . .

ages 20-40.

The ages given are merely guidelines. Early 30's, for example, would also
fit the leads.

This is a very funny play with interesting roles for all characters.

We hope to see you at auditions!
