Familiy Players of NENY is proud to announce that they will be holding auditions for a February production of
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
Six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser.
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee is a hilarious tale of overachievers' angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. The show's Tony Award winning creative team has created the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time.
Roles are available for 4 women and 5 men.

Please prepare 16-32 bars of an up-tempo song from a Broadway Musical.
Singing from the show is not required (nor suggested), however, familiarity with the music might be useful as we may teach you a song from the show and ask you to sing it if call backs are required.
Please also prepare a brief comedic monologue OR joke (30-60 seconds). Most of the characters in this show are children played by adults. We want to see you be playful and have fun. This show is a COMEDY. Please choose something that will showcase your comedic timing. Additionally, you will be asked to do cold readings from the script.
Visit our website at www.familyplayersofneny.com for full details and character descriptions.
