Cohoes Music Hall is having auditions this week for students (grade 9-12) and adults for Footloose, a C-R Kids Production

Dance auditions for students will take place on Monday September 14 from 5:00-8:00pm at the Cohoes Music Hall, 58 Remsen Street, Cohoes, NY, 12047. Please be prepared to begin at 5:00pm

Singing and Acting auditions, for students and adults, will take place on Sunday, September 20th at Cohoes Music Hall.  Auditions for Students: 6:00-8:30pm. Sign-in for all is at 6:00. Auditions for adults: 8:30pm-10:00pm. Sign-in for all is at 8:30.

Students are asked to come to both the dancing and the singing/acting
audition. If you have a conflict, contact the director at the email
address below.

Students and Adults auditioning for singing roles: Please prepare 16-32 bars of a standard Broadway song. Must sing with piano accompaniment, which will be provided. You will also be asked to do a short cold reading, which will be provided at the audition.

Adults auditioning for non-singing roles: You will be asked to do a short cold read, which will be provided at the audition.

Callbacks will take place on Monday, September 21th from 5:30-9:30pm. If called back, you will be asked to be present for the entire time slot. 

If you have one, please bring a headshot and resume. 

This is a non-paying job. 

This production will be directed by Kristen van Ginhoven, with choreography by Tony Rivera and musical direction by Nathan Meredith

Rehearsals for the production will begin in November 2009. Rehearsals will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Work conflicts can be accommodated. 

Performance Dates: January 14, 15, 16, 17, 2010 at the historic Cohoes Music Hall.

Footloose is a story of a young man from Chicago, Ren, who is forced to move with his mother to a puritanical small town. To Ren's shock dancing and Rock 'n' Roll are forbidden in the town. Through tenacity and clever use of the Bible, Ren manages to convince Reverend Moore to let the town dance again. "Let's hear it of the boys!" 

Footloose is a musical with book by Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie, based on the original screenplay by Dean Pitchford, with music by Tom Snow and Lyrics by Dean Pitchford. Additional numbers by Kenny Loggins, Sammy Hagar, Jim Steinman and Eric Carmen. Additional lyrics by Kenny Loggins
