Family Players of NENY is proud to present auditions for their summer musical, Seussical the Musical!!!!
--Auditions will be held April 13 and 15, 2010 at Sand Creek Middle School, Colonie.  Sign in is at 6:30 with auditions starting promptly at 7:00. You do not need to come both nights to audition, and no callbacks are planned.
Headshots are not necessary, but welcome. Please bring a resume, if you have one. If not, you will be asked about your theatrical experience, so be prepared to let us know your theatrical history.
**Those auditioning should prepare 16 bars or more of a Broadway song, not necessarily from the show. Accompanist provided. Casting over fifty people of all ages, from 8-80, in various feature and ensemble roles!!
--There may be a brief movement portion of the audition as well. No formal dance routine is required to have prepared ahead of time!

**Production Staff includes Thomas Dalton Bambury (Director/Choreographer),  Olga Martinez (Musical Director), Kerri Tedesco(Choreographer) and Mary Kalica and Julie Phillips (Producers).
 
Seussical the Musical, with music by Stephen Flaherty, Lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and book by Mr. Flaherty and Ms.Ahrens is based on the books of Dr. Seuss, and debuted on Broadway in 2000. 
 
The central character is Horton the Elephant, who is set on protecting the Citizens of WhoVille, who live on a tiny spect of dust.
--Along with Horton, other characters to be cast include:
*The Cat In The Hat: the mischievous, imaginative, comedic narrator 
*Jo-Jo, the son of The Mayor and Mrs. Mayor, he often gets into trouble for thinking. 
*Gertrude McFuzz, the loyal bird-neighbor of Horton, she loves him but is shy due to having a one feather tail
*Mayzie LaBird, an over the top bird with a huge personality, who tells Gertrude to take pills so her tail will grow longer, which will get Horton to love Gertrude. 
*Sour Kangaroo, the brash kangaroo who tells all that Horton is a fool for thinking there are people living on a dust speck. 
*The Mayor of WhoVille, the father of Jo-Jo. 
*Mrs. Mayor, The Mayor's wife and mother of Jo-Jo. 
*General Genghis Khan Schmitz, the general of Jo-Jo's academy 
*The Citizens of WhoVille, an eclectic and energetic cross section of all ages and types 
--Other featured roles include The Bird Girls and The Wickersham Brothers, The Grinch, Yertle the Turtle, Thing One and Thing Two, Cindy Lou Who, and many more of your favorite characters!

Rehearsals begin in late Apri!! 
--Please Note: There is a minimal $40 Production Fee for all individuals that are cast in this production. This is to cover all production costs for each member of the cast. There is No Fee to audition for this production.
 
**Seussical the Musical will be performed at the beautiful Tawasentha Park in Guilderland, July 7-11, 2010!!!
