THE FESTIVAL WILL BE:
SEPTEMBER 30 & OCTOBER 1: Both Evening Shows
...Saturday OCTOBER 2: Matinee & Evening Shows
OCTOBER 7 & 8: Both Evening Shows
Saturday OCTOBER 9: Matinee & Evening Shows

Come audition for one of the EIGHT short plays being presented during the
Short Play Festival! These shows are penned by local playwrights and are
always a great chance to get involved again, or to keep your talents fresh!

*There will be no monologue portion to this audition. Actors will indicate
if there is a specific show / part they would like to read for and the
audition will consist of reading from the scripts.*

There will be "Audition Applications" but resumes are also encouraged.

We also need tech crew, so if you're interested please let us know! The
following production roles are available:

Auditions are Monday AND Tuesday at 6:30pm & the following Sunday AND Monday
at 6:30pm.

PLAYS AUDITIONING July 25 & 26:
===================================
THE LETTER TREE
written by Jill Sprotbery
directed by Jason LaSusa

A note from director Jason LaSusa: " I will be returning to directing plays
in the Fall, doing a WWII-era period piece called The Letter Tree for
Confetti's Short Play Festival. The play will mix teens and adults."

ROLES:

EMMA HARPER (13-15) - an easy-going young girl with energy and a sense of
humor, who has an angry turn as she learns of her father's death.
ISABELLE HARPER (13-15) - stressed by her father's occupation, she exhibits
anxiety and "rough around the edges" qualities.
FRANK HARPER (30's) - healthy man. Even-tempered with positive outlook.
ISABELLE'S FATHER (30's) - healthy man. Blue collar. Protective of his
daughter.
NURSE LORETTA - A strong work ethic and caring demeanor.

SYNOPSIS: The story about two adolescent girls living on the home front,
while their fathers are away at war. Their lives are an emotional roller
coaster, as they deal with the normal stresses of adolescence, while
wrestling fear of the war's potential cost.

FRACTURED MAMA
written by Jody Satriani
directed by Emily Billig

ROLES:

LILLIAN - is an 80 year old African American woman. She is strong willed and
doesn't let her age stop her from living. She is very independent, and does
not let many people into her world and her art.
TRACEY - is Lillian's daughter. She is in her forties. Even at the mid-point
of her life, she is struggling with the relationship she has with her
mother. She is still longing for her attention that she did not get as a
kid.

SYNOPSIS: A timeless look into the transitions of the relationship between a
mother and daughter. As the two prepare to become roommates, the
conversation takes us on the ride that can only fully be understood by a
mother.

THE NAKED TRUTH
written by Fred Sahner
directed by Barry Streifert

ROLES:

LORETTA (mid 30's) - Robert's wife
ROBERT (mid 30's) - Loretta's husband

SYNOPSIS: What's good for the goose is good for the gander. Unless your the
one getting goosed. Robert and Loretta, typically married, and totally
honest with each other. But can there be too much honesty in a relationship?

IS THERE AN ACTOR IN THE HOUSE?
written by Charles E. Fitz-Gerald
directed by Sean Kittle

ROLES

MEADOWS/THE BUTLER - An older gentleman who tries to use old adages that
just don't quite seem right.
QUAIL/THE FIRST GUEST- Older than Meadows, but more on his game.
SAMANTHA NEUWASSER/THE SECOND GUEST- A thirty-something aerobics instructor,
dressed in her workout suit.
STAGE MANAGER - A young twenty something, on stage frequently due to
emergencies.
LARRY OLIVER/RHETT CALHOUN - A good looking guy who starts his evening in
the audience.
MRS. CALHOUN - tall, big-boned woman with a no-nonsense demeanor
I.G. GAINES - An older, wealthy gentleman with a sinister, low rumbling
laugh.
RAMONA GAINES - The attractive and much younger wife of I.G. Gaines.

SYNOPSIS: A play within a play about a dinner party and MURDER - A mansion
full of ghosts, and secrets and MURDER. Will Mr. Gaines discover the truth
about his late wife? Will there be a seance? Will the show go on? Gather
your tissue boxes. It's going to be a laugh 'til you cry ride.

DOROTHY FAUST
Written by Linda Bidwell
Directed by Cheryl Charbonneau

ROLES:

DOROTHY FAUST: An attractive woman, thirty, thirty-five, or forty
JESSIE BELL: Her friend. About the same age, a “girl next door” type
GLEN GOODHEART: Dorothy’s love interest, a man with a past
HARRY OLDEN: A slick, sophisticated stranger

SYNOPSIS:
Dorothy, who describes herself as a woman with questions, thinks she has
finally figured out who Mr. Right might be. But then Mr. Really, Really,
Wrong appears in the form of a computer virus masking himself as the Devil.
Or is it the other way around? Is it all a hoax? So many questions! Can a
company called “Soul Quest Universal” answer them all? And is the world
ready for an infomercial for Satan?

HEROICS
Written by: Martin Cahill
Directed by: Michael Silvia

ROLES (3m, 2f):

NATE (late 20's) - Denied the powers he expected to get, Nate became a cop
in an attempt to be a hero. Feels inadequate next to his brother Atlas.
ATLAS (mid 20's) - Nate's younger brother, who inherited superpowers from
his father, much to Nate's dismay. Feels like his brother "got the girl".
Weight of the world on his shoulders.
JENNY (mid 20's) - Nate's long-time girlfriend, dated Atlas in high school.
Wishes Nate would let go of his "hero" dreams.
TRIUMPH (early 20's) - Atlas' current flame, a superhero with less power
than Atlas. Tries to get brothers to patch things up.
DR. PROMETHEUS (late 30s) - Atlas' archnemesis. Typical evil villain type.

SYNOPSIS: Heroics is the story of two brothers trying to make peace with
each other. Add in a girl, superpowers and an evil villain, and it's not so
simple.

HOLY NIGHT
written by Diane Doring
directed by Tim Orcutt

ROLES:

MAGGIE BAILEY SANTORELLI (30s) - plucky and determined matriarch [please
note this role was cast from earlier auditions]
BAILEY (13) - helping the family by selling his mother's knitting
JAMIE (12) - determined and spirited, his life hangs by a thread
DESMOND (10) - not too bright, but loves his Mom
JOE SANTORELLI (30s) - Maggie's Husband
FATHER TRACY (30s) - Parish priest and old friend of Maggie's [please note
this role has been cast from earlier auditions]
DR. STEVEN HALLORAN (30s) - respected local doctor, also with a connection
to Maggie.

SYNOPSIS: A struggling Irish-Italian family in 1940's Industrial America
faces an uncertain future and a son in desperate need of proper medical
attention. To what lengths will the determined mother go to save her son and
her family's future? A heartwarming family drama.

ROLES:

MARCIE (40s) - a teacher, attractive but definitely middle aged
JEFF (late 40s) - mid-level executive, reasonably handsome
KAREN - saleswoman for Carmella Cosmetics, elderly & spry with wicked gleam
LINDA (40) - production manager, earthy, rough & ready, up-through-the-ranks
type

SYNOPSIS: Just how far would you go to get ahead in the workplace? Jeff has
to decide the answer to that very question as he must choose whether or not
to accept his boss's invitation - for Jeff and his wife to join him and his
wife for a weekend at a nudist resort!
