Capital Repertory Theatre announces auditions for young  actors, ages 
10-14, for its holiday production of A CHRISTMAS STORY.  Based on the beloved 
motion picture,  here is the story of Young Ralphie who wants a Red Ryder BB 
gun for  Christmas.  Join the fun meeting the  characters from the movie, 
including Mom, Dad, Miss Shields, Randy, Flick,  Schwartz, Esther, Helen, Scut 
Farkas, and other classmates, as Ralphie’s  fantasies come to life putting 
everyone into “The Wizard of Oz”, Pin Ball  Machines and Santaland in the 
quest for the Red Ryder. 
AUDITION DATE:  Wednesday, August 25, 2010 
TIMES:  11:00  AM – 3:00 PM 
LOCATION:  Capital Repertory Theatre, 111 N. Pearl  St., Albany, NY 
REHEARSALS START:  November 2, 2010 
PERFORMANCES BEGIN:  Friday, November 26, 2010 
CLOSING PERFORMANCE:  Sunday, January 2, 2011 
Actors will not rehearse on Thanksgiving Day, but will be  expected to be 
available for rehearsal by noon on Friday, Nov. 26.  No performance on 
Christmas Eve or  Christmas Day. 
PERFORMANCES:  Tuesday – Sunday; five (5) student matinees. 
REHEARSAL TIMES:  First 2 weeks: rehearsals will be after school.  As of 
November 12, it will be necessary  to be at rehearsals by 12 noon each day. 
SEEKING: 
(2) Boys:  ages 10-14 
Young Ralphie – sensitive, keen observer, rich fantasy  life.  His quiet 
and shy façade  hides a lively imagination and great sense of humor 
underneath. 
Scut Farkas – the school bully. 
(4) Boys:  ages 10-12 
(Please note age restriction due to Equity requirements  for young actors) 
Randy – Ralphie’s younger brother.  Actor needs to be under 5 feet tall 
and  very expressive physically. 
Flick – Ralphie’s friend 
Schwartz – Ralphie’s friend 
Classmate (in several scenes) 
(3) Girls:  ages 10-12 
Esther Jane Alberry 
Helen Weathers 
Classmate

N. Pearl  St., Albany, NY  12207.  Mark on outside of envelope:  YOUNG 
ACTOR CHRISTMAS STORY  AUDITIONS.   
Please note:  This is NOT an open call. 
Selected actors will be called with appointment  times. 
WHAT TO BRING (if selected):  Be prepared to perform a memorized  1-minute 
monologue of your choice. 
STIPENDS:  Young actors receive $50 per week for rehearsal and performance  
weeks.
