Capital Rep Announces "Finding Yolanda Casting Search"

*	Are you an aspiring actress/dancer/singer between the ages of 16-24
who can sing gospel and break into a rap?
*	Do you watch American Idol and think "I can do that!"?

If you answer "YES" to these two questions, then Capital Rep wants to
audition YOU for the role of Yolanda in our upcoming production of Regina
Taylor's inspirational gospel musical Crowns!

Based on the best-selling book by Michael Cunningham and Craig Marberry,
Crowns tells the story of Yolanda, a sassy Brooklyn teen with heart, who is
sent down south to live with her grandmother. Crowns features soulful,
joyful music celebrating family, faith, love and loss in a series of musical
portraits.

The perfect Yolanda is an African-American woman between the ages of 16 and
24. For this role, the actress must be able to act, sing and dance; previous
professional theater experience is not required. To be considered, please
e-mail your resume and headshot to casting at capitalrep.org.

Selected actors will be contacted to audition in January. No phone calls
please. Those auditioning should not be a member of any actors' union
including AEA, SAG and AFTRA. If selected, actress will be asked to prepare
a rap and gospel hymn to sing a capella. Rehearsals start February 8, 2011.
Crowns runs March 4 - April 3, 2011. A stipend is provided.
