NEW SUBMISSION DEADLINE - FEBRUARY 15, 2010

CONFETTI STAGE'S
6th Annual Short Play Festival / Confetti Fest
CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
 
We are seeking plays by Capital Region Playwrights to be considered for participation in the 6th Annual Short Play Festival / Confetti Fest in October 2010.
 
ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST BE POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 15, 2010.
 
SUBMISSIONS MUST BE:
not longer than 60 minutes
applicable to our mission statement
an original work
(works that have NOT been previously produced are encouraged)
 
ALL SUBMISSIONS MUST INCLUDE:
-        cover letter of interest
(tell us about your passion for writing and how you anticipate participation in SPF6 will affect you)
-        playwright's name, address, phone number, and email address
-        synopsis of the play
-        listing & description of characters in the play
-        the script
-        list of all previous productions of the work, if applicable
 
Playwrights will be notified via e-mail of receipt of submission(s).  All submissions will be reviewed by the SPF6 reading committee.  Letters of acceptance, alternate, or decline will be mailed via the USPS in late March, 2010.  As needed, alternates will begin being moved onto the participant list in early April, 2010.  The number of plays selected varies from year to year and ranges from 6 to 10 plays.
 
Directors & designers will be paired with their scripts soon after the participant list is finalized.
Auditions for the festival will be held in May, 2010.  Rehearsals will begin in August, 2010.

Submitted works cannot be returned to the playwright.
Electronic submissions cannot be accepted at this time.
Multiple submissions must be treated independently of one another and each submission must include all items listed above.
 
Participants of the 6th Annual SPF / Confetti Fest may expect:
-        a collaborative process
-        a fully staged production of your script
-        full credit in all programs and posters for the festival
-        review / critique from the SPF6 reading committee
-        evaluation of the festival production by Confetti Stage's Artistic Director
-        possible adjudication by the Theatre Association of New York State (TANYS festival consideration)
-        possible submission to either the Strawberry Festival, at the Riant Theatre in NYC or the Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Play Festival, in NYC
