Harvey is a Pulitzer Prize winning comedy set in the 1940s. The play tells
the story of Elwood P. Dowd, an affable yet eccentric man who is kind to
everyone he meets. Of course, he also introduces everyone to his imaginary
friend, Harvey, a six-and-a-half foot rabbit. After embarrassing his sister,
Veta, at a high society function by "sharing" Harvey with the socialites,
Veta tries to have Elwood committed to a sanatorium. In a comic turn of
events, Veta is the one who is committed - if only temporarily! As the rest
of the plot unfolds, Elwood's kindness and generous heart begin to overpower
everyone's fears about his imaginary - and lovable - friend, Harvey.
Information about the auditions:
* Auditions will be conducted with sides from the script. Actors are

character who tries to balance the needs of her brother and her daughter all
the while she is living in the eye of "high society."
Myrtle Mae Simmons (F; 20s) - daughter of Veta; she is fairly self absorbed
and unsympathetic of her uncle Elwood's eccentricities.
Ethel Chauvenet (F; 40s-60s) - A member of the town's social elite; she is
prim and proper.
Ruth Kelly (F; 20s-30s) - Nurse; she is a sympathetic young woman who works
at "Chumley's Rest."

pleasant little world along with his invisible rabbit friend, Harvey.

wise man who accepts Elwood as he is.

is a good man who has his eyes on Nurse Kelly.
Wilson (M; 20s-30s) - Orderly at "Chumley's Rest"; he is loyal to Dr.
Chumley but a bit on the "unpolished" side.
