WAM Theatre is looking for a strong cellist for their November production of
Tony Award Nominee Sarah Ruhl's contemporary farce 'Melancholy Play'.

This opportunity is for a musician interested in being part of a theatrical
production and intertwining music and theatre. The score is another
character in the play, scoring transitions, underscoring dialogue, moving
the actors into song and creating an entire world.

Character Description from the play:
Julian (any age/gender)-a cello player. Someone from another world. Must be
able to play the cello extremely well. The cello serves as another character
in the play. The cellist is onstage the whole play and steps into the action
at the end.

Time Frame:
Rehearsals will begin in October with the show running from November 12-21
(4 performances per weekend) at the NEW STAGE Performing Arts in Pittsfield,
MA.
Rehearsals will take place in the Capital Region in October and in
Pittsfield in November. The cellist will need to be integrated into
rehearsals as much as possible.

www.wamtheatre.com

The pay for this position is a set stipend plus a percentage of ticket
sales.
