All roles are open for actors, singers, dancers, and anyone else (ages 8+)
who is interested in putting on a musical and having a good time while they
are at it! There is a $150 tuition charge for performers under the age of
18. Tuition will be waived for experienced adult performers, with the
understanding that their involvement will increase the educational
opportunities of the younger performers. Everyone will be required to
provide their own tights and dance shoes, which can be purchased at a
discount through the program.

Please prepare 16 bars from a Broadway standard (nothing from the show,
please). There will be a short dance call, so wear comfortable clothing that
you can easily move in. Please bring an 8 x 10 headshot and performance
resume if you have them, although they are not necessary. We want to
emphasize that this is an excellent opportunity for kids with varying
degrees of experience to learn the about putting on a show.

*Bye Bye Birdie* is one of the most captivating musical shows of our time.
It is a satire done with the fondest affection, and tells the story of a
rock and roll singer who is about to be inducted into the army. An English
Teacher, What Did I Ever See in Him?, Put on a Happy Face, One Boy, A Lot of
Livin' to Do, Kids, Rosie and Spanish Rose are musical theatre classics.
This is the tops in imagination and good old fashion fun.

The first read-through will be held on Tuesday, June 29 and the first
sing-through will be held on Wednesday, June 30. Rehearsals will begin on
July 6 and will be held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays through
August 12. Tech week starts on Sunday, August 15 and continues every night
through Thursday, August 19. Performances will be at 7 pm on August 20 & 21
(Friday & Saturday), and at 2 pm on August 21 & 22 (Saturday & Sunday).
Participants are responsible for attending every rehearsal for which they
are called, although they may not be called for every rehearsal. Everyone
involved with the show must be present at every rehearsal during tech week.

*Tuition*

Tuition covers the expenses of instruction, costumes, props, scenery,
rehearsal and performance space, licensing, and insurance. A non-refundable
$50 deposit is due for each student at the first read-through (June 29); the
balance is due at the first rehearsal (July 6). There is a 5% tuition
reduction for each registered referral, and non-cumulative 10% tuition
reduction for siblings. We also offer a tuition assistance program for
qualifying families.
