SVAN and Sacandaga Musical Theater to host "Summer Stars" Talent Search 

 

SVAN/Sacandaga Musical Theater is looking for vocal performers ages 16 to 30 to compete in their Summer Stars Talent Search on Saturday July 31st at 8pm in the Northville Central School auditorium. Contestants have a chance to win the top prize of $250, second prize of $150, third prize of $100 plus a $100 People's Choice award, to be decided by audience vote.

Master of ceremonies for the event will be SMT's Chris Cucinella, who will also perform during the show. A panel of five judges from the region's theater and arts community will grade competitors on a list of performance criteria. The number of performers will be limited to fifteen. Each must provide his or her own musical accompanist or track. Songs of any genre are acceptable, at five minutes or less in length. Content and performance must be appropriate for all ages. Those selected to compete will be required to attend one dress rehearsal the week preceding the show. 

Auditions will be held at Northville Central School auditorium on Wednesday, July 14th and Thursday July 15th from 7 to 9pm. Tickets for the competition will be available at the door on the evening of the performance. General admission price is $7.00. SVAN members, seniors and students pay $5.00.
