An Original One Act Play Festival
Auditions held at Sand Lake Center for the Arts
for 14 plays with nine directors and 54 characters
(Parts can be doubled)
Sunday, September 19th from 6-9pm
Thursday, September 23rd from 7-9pm
Friday, September 24th from 7-9pm
Show Dates: December 2, 3, 4, 5
Each show will be produced twice, on alternate nights
Rehearsals will be during the month of November

"Afterglow" by Lila Louise Nawrocki (Beacon)
An aging star realizes she may have to die to keep her fame.
Needed: 2 women (one in 30's, one "old")

"Will the Real Play Stand Up?" by Barbara Leavell Smith (Petersburg)
Unique audience - a famous actor, a famous director, a famous critic and a woman
Needed: 4 characters

"A Midsummer Night's Dance" by Linda Bidwell (Amsterdam)
Modern and silly adaptation of Shakespeare's play
Needed: 3 men/2 women, 3 either (all should probably be youngish)

An Irish woman goes to the local pub to get advice
Needed: 2 women (one in 20's, one 20-40's) 2 men ( one in 20's, one 20's-50)

him and has a conversation about life, happiness and disabilities.

Two men in a condo community vying to have the room named after them.

Combines two classic styles - Oscar Wilde and "The Honeymooners"

Sand Lake Center for the Arts - Circle Theatre Players,
is a not for profit community arts center
The Center is a renovated, historically significant 1835 church
with a fully equipped open performing space for theatrical productions,
community meetings, concerts, workshops and classes; and is available for rent.
The light-filled Gallery boasts original stained glass windows
and exhibits artists' work throughout the year.
The Gallery and Cafe are open one hour prior to events.
Volunteer opportunities abound and can be yours by contacting

The Center is air conditioned, handicapped accessible and has free parking.
