Confetti Stage, Inc. is totally psyched to announce auditions for Confetti
Fest 7!
*Tuesday & Wednesday, August 30 & 31, 2011
Doors open at 6:30pm

Confetti Stage continues its tradition of giving Albany area playwrights the
opportunity to see their short plays produced as part of Confetti Fest.
Come audition to be part of this Award Winning Short Play and Film Festival!

We have 26+ roles available in six different shows.

*Actors do not need to prepare anything, *but should be prepared to have a
fun time playing and reading from any of the 6 short plays.

Rehearsals will begin on or after Sept 6.
*Confetti Fest 7 runs October 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, & 15.*

*Shows *and *Roles*:

*Ace and Eight*- They say the deeds of one's past dictates one's destiny but
an act of love can abruptly change it.
*The* *Dealer*: a mysterious individual who knows a great deal but reveals
even less
*Tess* *Reilly*: A happy and proud woman who hangs onto her old-fashioned
ideals
*Sal* *Masselli*: A good-natured man with a big heart but a tough persona
*Kerry* *Bradford*: An innocent young man with high ideals and honest love
for Alicia
*Alicia* *Kovacs*: A street-wise calculating woman who never believed in
real love
*Harold* *Bascomb*: An angry and combative man and full of regret
*Charles* *Lang*: A patient, honest individual always willing to give of
himself
*Eileen*: The establishment's proprietor who is clueless as to the
happenings taking place

*Blue*- A profane, chauvenistic comedian experiences a personal tragedy that
makes him re-evaluate his career.
*Otto* *Ontario*: the stand-up
*Plants*: at least three people in audience who double as Otto's opening
act, the MC, and the headlining prop comic

*Bureau of Investigation*- A murder is solved- by the victim's furniture.
Narrator: A tough yet suave detective type in a brown suit
*Victoria*: A prim, Victorian young woman
*Oliver*: Slick haired, gossipy (Can be a woman; Olivia)
* Louisa*: Heavily made-up, hair curly and loose
*Edgar*: Dapper gentleman, well-fitting suit and top hat
*There may also be non-speaking roles available:*
*Nitwit*: Elderly gentleman
*Lawyer*: Boring gentleman
*Rosa*: Secretary type
* Drafty*: Older man; Nitwit's brother
*Blot*: Young man-about-town
*Martha*: Elderly housekeeper

*He's Not Catholic*- A short comedy about an over-the-hill entertainment
business that's committed a regrettable mistake by sending a stripper to a
Catholic Women's Society meeting.
* Asher* *Lazar* (50s; male): Owner of a small town entertainment business
well past it's heyday. Jewish, energetic when necessary, but a tad tired of
the whole thing.
*Bela* *Cusack* (60s, male; slightly diminutive): A struggling Jewish
entertainer who fled Poland during the German invasion carrying his beloved
accordion. Idolizes accordion god, Myron Floren, and can't quite get over
the fact that the Lawerence Welk Show is no longer popular.
* Cora* *Broadwell* (40s, female; stripper/dancer physique): A nice enough
Scientologist stripper with a sad story. Perhaps a little past her prime.
Works for Asher Lazar.
*Monsignor* *Moran* (50s, male; imposing physique): A not-so-nice Catholic
priest who has a deal to make with Lazar.
* Bernice*: (20-40 female; buxom, shapely): Catholic secretary to Asher
Lazar. A sympathetic character who's prone to wardrobe malfunctions.

*Home Again*- A retiree visits his childhood home in a bad part of town to
find it occupied by a black family and spends time with the housewife,
during which their likes and differences are revealed.
* Chet* *Fredericks*: 70s, white male
*Yvonne* *Williams*: 30s, black female

*Safe Words*- A funny sad funny play about two gay men trying out bondage
for the first time. One of them gets stuck in a chair- and then everything
else starts falling apart.
* Jake*- More responsible, nicer; having an affair
*Ethan*- Wittier, meaner, more needy; a Sondheim fan


We're looking forward to seeing many shiny-new and/or well-seasoned actors
at auditions!
