An original drama based on the book by Annette V.  Dominic.
Adapted for the stage by Agnes E. Kapusta Skiff, Michele  Marchese, Mike 
Langevin, and Ed Miller.

Auditions: Wed. December 7th and Mon. December 12th at  7PM.
Callbacks (if necessary): Wed. December 14th at  7PM.

Production dates: March 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, and 25,  2012. 
Show performed at The Albany Elks Lodge.
 
Why Didn't He Tell Me? is Annette V. Dominic's  moving account of two 
brothers whose lives take them on entirely different  routes. 
 
Character Descriptions:
Richy DuBois - (must be able to play late teens  through mid 30's)The older 
son, studious, and practical, he tries to please  his parents. He chooses 
the "right" path, but soon learns things are  not always black and white.
 
Pauly DuBois - (must be able to play late teens  through early 30's)The 
younger son, troubled and sensitive, searching for  his place in the world. 
This role requires some stage combat.
 
Richard DuBois - (must be able to play 25-45) A  frustrated father, who is 
struggling to communicate with his sons. 
 
Lillie DuBois - (must be able to play 25-45) A loving  wife and mother, she 
is trying to bridge the gap between her proud husband and  two very 
different sons.
 
Susan White - (15-25) Classmate of Richy and Pauly. Her  youth and beauty 
belie a selfish and manipulative personality.
 
(2) Police officers
 
Darlene - (25-40) Richy's supportive wife. She is insightful  and 
encourages Richy to reconnect with his brother. 
 
Peter - (25-40) Darlene's brother and Richy's life-long pal  who supports 
their fight for justice.
 
Mr. Barnes - (50+) Owner of the Barnes and Riley Circus, who  becomes a 
father-figure.
 
Dolly - (30-50) Runs things behind the scenes at the circus,  becomes a 
confidant of Pauly.
 
Doctor
 
Emily - (10-17) A sweet, young neighbor of Pauly who  offers insightful 
advice. 
 
Laura - (30-50) Richy and Darlene's nanny/housekeeper. This  role requires 
some stage combat. 
 
Radio/Circus announcer
 
Charlie - A rambling prison inmate
 
James Lyons - (30-45) Pauly’s Lawyer, a Public Defender who is  trying to 
help someone who won't help himself.
 
Beth Erikson - A reporter
 
Judge
 
Foreman
 
Priest
 
Some roles will be doubled.
