The Theatre Institute at Sage - SATURDAYS ON-STAGE
(March 28- May 21; Open House, March 19th 10am Schacht Theatre; Russell
Sage College)
Some kids have a very lively and active imagination, some have an
“inner actor” hidden deep inside, and others are just “born to the
stage.” If any of these are You, come join your fellow young performers
every Saturday for an exciting exploration of the world of theatre.
Class Offerings
“Dramatics” (ages 5-8)  Come explore your imagination through creative
activities such storytelling, movement, singing, mime, and craft
projects.  Express your thoughts, ideas and feelings in a safe and
nurturing environment where every child is special and a “star.”
(Saturdays, 9-10am; Tuition: $100)
“Theatre Performance Training“
  Beginning ( 9-11) Focus on performance skills (and personal
development) through acting, voice and movement classes in a
non-competitive atmosphere which fosters concentration, cooperation and
communication.  Enjoy developing your own characters through
improvisation and theatre games. (Saturdays, 10am-1pm; Tuition: $200)
   Advanced (12-15) Hone your performance technique (and 
self-confidence)
through disciplined work in acting, movement and voice while studying
scripted material, musical selections and choreography.  Challenge
yourself to take creative risks and expand your role repertoire.
(Saturdays, 11am-2pm; Tuition $200)
“Ensemble Workshop” (ages 16-18) For the serious performer, an intense
experience in the creative process of developing an original script in
which students will participate in all aspects – character analysis,
playwriting, directing, and technical theatre design. (4 hours, 
specific time
TBA; Tuition $250)

The Theatre Institute at Sage (TIS) is a new initiative, under the
umbrella of the Russell Sage College Creative and Performing Arts
Department, dedicated to providing arts-in-education programming to
capitol area students, teachers and families.
