DragonFly Performing Arts will be holding auditions for Neil Simon's Lost in Yonkers on Wednesday, Jan 19th at 7pm at DragonFly Theatre, 473 Main Street in Cairo, NY. Needed are two young actors in their early-mid teens, two actors in their 40s and two actresses, 30-40. New York accents needed. All parts are open with the exception of the Grandmother. Sides will be provided, please be ready to read from the script. Rehearsals begin in February for mid-March production. Open roles are:
Bella: (F, mid 30s/ ​early 40s) Aunt of Jay and Arty, offcenter, absentminded, child-like, but loving and protective. New York accent.
Jay: (M, 15) Elder brother to Arty, a worrier who takes his responsibilities to heart, book-smart, easily carried away. New York accent.
Arty: (M,13) Younger brother to Jay, a wise-acre, goes with the flow, more street-smart than his brother. New York accent.
Eddie: (M, 40s) Father of Arty and Jay, a widower in poor health who must leave the children with his mother while he pursues work. New York accent.
Louie: (M, 40s) Uncle of Arty and Jay, brother of Eddie and Bella, egotistical small-time hood, potentially dangerous. New York accent.
Gert: (F, 30s/ early 40s) Aunt of Arty and Jay, meek, nervous, loses her breath when she speaks. New York accent.
