Dear Colleagues,
Stageworks is holding EPA auditions for our 2011 season. Please see
the information below. There are three separate EPA's, one for each
production.
We are interested in getting the word out to regional actors and would
appreciate it if you could broadcast or post this announcement to
theater artists.

PS Non Equity actors are welcome to contact us about auditions and if

THE DIVINE SISTER by Charles Busch
Regional Premiere
Directed by Billy Kimmel
Two week rehearsal. Three week run - 5 performances first and second
week, 6 performances 3rd week
6 character play - 2 AEA, 4 non-AEA

Seeking actors to play:
Mother Superior (Susan): PLAYED BY A MALE ACTOR
Age 40-60 - St. Veronica's ardent Mother Superior, steadfast on saving
her convent school from bankruptcy and maintaining its religiosity
during the turbulent 1960's.Extremely funny and quick witted. Likable
and energetic. Tour de force role!
Sister Walburga / Mrs. Macduffie:
Age: 30-50 - A visiting nun from Berlin and severe doctrinarian. Tall
and somewhat threatening. She is an undercover spy bent on unearthing
the buried sarcophagus of Joyce Christ, Jesus's sister, the true
Messiah. Think Doctor Zhivago. Must be able to do an over the top German
accent. Mrs. Macduffie is an old Scottish charwoman at St. Veronica's.
Must be able to do an over the top Scottish accent.
Sister Acacius (Lilly):
Age: 40 -60 - St. Veronica's mistress of Novices and wrestling coach. A
wise cracking and hearty athletic gal. Fun loving and honest. Speaks
with a Brooklyn accent.
Agnes:
Age: 20 - 30 - Ethereal young postulant who has visions. Clairvoyant maybe.
Mrs. Levinson / Timothy:
Age: 30- 50 - An elegant Jewish matriarch. Very wealthy. Stern and to
the point. Eloquent with words. Dramatic. An Atheist. Also plays
Timothy, a sensitive twelve-year-old student struggling with his
ineptness at sports.
Jeremy / Brother Venerius:
Age: 40's - 50's - Handsome virile man and former suitor of
Susan.(Mother Superior) He is visiting from Hollywood where he works
for a film company. Funny straight man.Venerius is a sinister Albino
Monk and an ally to Sister Walburga.
Theater's statement: "Roles in the season are open to Non-Traditional
Casting. The Theater encourages all performers to audition."

TENNIS IN NABLUS - 2011 SEASON

There is double casting as noted.

Seeking actors to play:
AMBARA: 30s, a Palestinian writer and the wife of Yusef al Qudsi. She is
modern but not necessarily Western. She is never melodramatic or
sentimental.
YUSEF: 46, a notorious Palestinian rebel. He is old school. He wears a
salt and pepper beard trimmed short. He has a swagger, but with humor
and childishness.
TARIQ: 35, a successful Palestinian businessman and the nephew of Yusef.
He is modern and Western in dress. He speaks with a hint of a British
accent.
MICHAEL O'DONEGAL: Mid-twenties, An Irish 'criminal' serving in the
British army in Palestine.
RAJIB: 30s, an Indian conscript in the British army. He wears a turban
but other than that is in British army attire.
GENERAL FALBOUR: Mid-sixties, he has a large well groomed white
mustache. He is not entirely brilliant but he loves Britain and that's
enough. (Also plays Hajj Waleed)
LIEUTENANT DOUGLAS DUFF: 30s, a preppy British officer. He lives to
please the general.
SAMUEL HIRSCH: 40, British-educated German Jew. He is a respected member
of the growing Jewish community in Palestine. (also plays Soldier and
Emiliano Zapata)
HAJJ WALEED: 70s, a servant who works for and lives with Ambara and
Yusef. He's been there long enough that he is more an uncle than a
servant. He does chores easily for a man of his age. (Also plays General
Falbour)
SOLDIER: British (also plays Samuel Hirsch and Emiliano Zapata)
REGGIE: a British business man, young and energetic, only recently
arrived in Palestine.
EMILIANO ZAPATA: A ghost (also plays Samuel Hirsch and Soldier)
