[Capdist-auditions] Auditions for The Last of the Mohicans Outdoor Drama

The Last of the Mohicans Outdoor Drama, Inc. will be holding auditions on Tuesday, March 8 and Thursday, March 10 at the Cohoes Music Hall located at 58 Remsen Street, Cohoes NY. 

Actors will receive a stipend. 

Rehearsal dates: 

Rehearsals begin Sunday, June 12th and will be held on Sunday afternoons and Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings until July 21 in the Albany area. 

Dress and technical rehearsals will be held beginning July 25 through July 28th at the performance site in Lake George Village, NY. 

Performance dates: 

All performances will begin at 8:00 pm on Fridays & Saturdays and Tuesdays and Wednesdays beginning on July 29th and concluding on August 20th. 
All performances will be held on the grounds of The Wild West Ranch on Route 9 in Lake George, NY. 

Audition information: 

Sign in begins at 7:00 pm on both nights. 

Please bring a recent head shot and updated resume to the audition. 

Actors should be prepared to perform a one minute monologue showcasing vocal projection and to read from the script. 

The following roles will be cast: 

Hawkeye: 40 - 45, honest, straightforward American scout 
Chingachgook: 45 - 50, authoritative, imposing Mohican chief 
Uncas: 20s, Chingachgook’s passionate and impulsive son 
Magua: 30 - 40, vengeful, cunning Huron warrior 

Major Duncan Heyward: 25 - 30, British officer and gentleman 
Colonel Munro: 55 - 60, experienced, professional British commander 
David Gamut: 35 - 45, eccentric and zealous hymn singing music master 
Sagamore: 70 - 75+, ancient sage of the Delaware; commanding and wise 

Marquis de Montcalm: 45, French general, experienced in war and diplomacy 
Sir William Johnson: 42, no nonsense Irish wilderness fighter and Indian agent 
Colonel Joseph Frye: 45, straightforward, good hearted, provincial commander 
Captain Israel Putnam: 39, adventurous and brash Connecticut Ranger 

Cora Munro: 20s, Munro’s dark, strong, courageous, mixed race daughter 
Alice Munro: 18, Munro’s fairer, genteel daughter 
Willow: 30 - 40, wise woman of the Huron 
Wish-ton-wish: 18 - 20, young native maiden 
Catamount: 20 - 30, athletic, female Huron warrior 

PLUS . . . men and women of varying ages to portray soldiers, colonists, and Native Americans. Some of these small speaking roles will require running, hand to hand combat, dancing and firing of reproduction muskets.
