This show will be performed at two different venues.
August 11-13, 2011 at Emmanuel Friendens Church
August 18-20, 2011 at Freedom Park in Scotia
Please prepare 16 bars of a song from a similar genre. An accompanist will be provided. There will be reading from the script. You do not need to prepare a monologue.
ALTAR BOYZ is a foot-stomping, rafter-raising, musical comedy about a fictitious Christian boy-band on the last night of their national "Raise the Praise" tour. Throughout the show, the boys learn about brotherhood; and in the end, when faced with a tough decision, they all realize how important they really are to each other.
Roles Available
Abraham — The nice Jewish boy who loves hip-hop. Lead Age: 18 - 29 - Baritone. Dancing: Moderate/Intense.
Juan — The ‘Latin lover’ with a passion for beautiful women. Lead Age: 20 - 29 - Baritone. Dancing: Moderate/Intense.
Luke — The bad boy of the group. Lead Age: 18 - 29 - Bass-baritone. Dancing: Moderate/Intense.
Mark — A sensitive young man who loves Cher. Comedic role. Lead Age: 18 - 29 - Tenor. Dancing: Moderate/Intense.
Matthew — The super handsome leader of the group. Lead Age: 18 - 29 Baritone. Dancing: Moderate/Intense
