Auditions for Albany
 Civic Theater's third show of the 2011-2012 season, "Rumors" by Neil 
Simon, directed by Katie Weinberg, will be held Monday, November 7 and 
Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at Albany Civic Theater, 235 Second Avenue, Albany, NY, 462-1297, info at albanycivictheater.org.

"Rumors" runs February 10-26, 2012.

Sign-ins
 begin at 7pm both evenings and auditions begin at 7:30pm; there is no 
need to make an appointment. There is no need to prepare a monologue; 
auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. 

We are looking for 5 men, able to play ages 35-55, and 5 women, able to play ages 25-45. 

Synopsis:

At a large, tastefully appointed Sneden's Landing townhouse, the Deputy Mayor of New York
 has just shot himself. Though only a flesh wound, four couples are 
about to experience a severe attack of farce. Gathering for their tenth 
wedding anniversary, the host lies bleeding in the other room and his 
wife is nowhere in sight. His lawyer, Ken, and Ken's wife, Chris, must 
get "the story" straight before the other guests arrive. As the 
confusions and miscommunications mount, the evening spins off into 
classic farcical hilarity. 

Available roles:

Glenn Cooper (35-45): Politician, very private. Frustrated husband of Cassie.

Ken Gorman (35-55): Wealthy attorney - the one in charge. Chris' husband.

Lenny Ganz (35-55): Wealthy accountant; pessimistic and used to getting his way. Claire's husband.

Ernie Cusack (35-55): Therapist, positive, friendly. Devoted husband to Cookie.

Officer Welch (35-55): Strong, vigorous, no-nonsense police officer.

Officer Pudney (25-35): Police officer, Officer Welch's partner.

Chris Gorman (25-45): Attorney; nervous and flighty. Ken's wife.

Claire Ganz (25-45): Gossip queen and dutiful wife to Lenny.

Cassie Cooper (25-45): Slightly crazy and neurotic wife of Glenn.

Cookie Cusack (35-45): Television cook (think Rachael Ray), slightly passive-aggressive but friendly. Ernie's wife.
