*THEATER VOICES* will hold auditions

for a staged reading of “*Sight Unseen*”, by Donald Margulies, directed by John
Romeo



Location:

Steamer No. 10 Theatre, 500 Western Avenue, Albany - corner of West
Lawrence Street.



Times:

Sunday, December 11         7-9pm

Monday, December 12         7-9pm


Actors will be asked to read scenes from the play.

 Please try to arrive on time, and be prepared to stay.



Production dates: February 17, 18, 19, 2012



Cast Breakdown:



*Jonathan*-35-42.  American. Successful artist.  Wildly popular artist,
married with a new child, in England to appear at new showing, visits
college love and muse he tossed aside for fame and glory. He is struggling
internally with the advancement of middle age, his disillusionment with his
art and the world of art, commerce and celebrity.



*Patricia*-35-42. American living in England for over a dozen years.  Having
chosen to hide from her pain at being tossed aside by Jonathan, she married
Nick. She has more or less put aside her anger at the loss of the love of
her life, to live a quiet, calm existence in the English countryside. She
shows a fierceness and strength that belies the heartbreak. She knows she
has settled for less than her dreams.



*Nick*-45-48. English. Educated, working archeologist. He is a painfully
shy, respectful man, who has the perfect American wife. He lives for his
work and the proper English existence. He sees the arrival of Jonathan as
striking the iceberg that may sink his Titanic life. But, he remains the
English academic, while battling his insecurities at what Jonathan brings,
in terms of the creative life for Patricia.



*Grete*-25-30. German. Ambitious, clever journalist. She is facile,
intelligent, very attractive and uses both skills to ingratiate herself to
her interviewees.  She might even be willing to seduce someone like
Jonathan, a youthful celebrity artist, to get a good story. She is a tiger
in a kitten suit.  She is not a Nazi interrogator, she is a young German
female journalist with a desire to get ahead and be successful in her field.
