[Capdist-auditions] Former NYSTI Assets Available To Schools and Theater Groups Free of Charge

The New York State Office of General Services (OGS) has a variety of stage pieces and props that were previously owned by the New York State Theater Institute (NYSTI) that will be offered to Capital Region schools and theater groups free of charge.  Two tractor trailers in Troy and three self-storage units in Rensselaer are filled with a wide variety of items including the full stage set used for NYSTI's production of Cinderella. For those interested in the Cinderella staging, please be advised that it must be taken in its entirety and will be available on a first come, first serve basis. The interested party will be required to transfer the contents of two on-site tractor trailers to their own tractor trailers for removal.  Removal must be completed by 3:00 p.m. on October 14.

For those interested in the items located in the self-storage units in Rensselaer, please be advised that the items will be disbursed on a first come, first serve basis and that the number of items available will decrease as organizations complete their appointments. Groups will be given a 90-minute appointment to view and remove items of their choosing.  Those with appointments must bring the means to remove items and transport them.  OGS will not provide transportation or manpower to remove the items. Parties should understand that groups can remove as many items as they wish during their 90-minute appointment; however; items may not be tagged or put aside for pick-up at a later time.

Groups interested in the items must express their intent by responding to this email.  The first organization to respond will be given the first appointment to select and remove items, the second to respond will be given the second appointment, etc. Requests for appointments will be accepted beginning at 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 7.  Emails received before 3:00 p.m. will not be considered.  Currently, there are nine appointments available.  Respondents will be notified of their appointment time and the exact location of the trailers and storage units on Tuesday, October 11. Appointments will be at 9:30 am, 11:00 am, 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 13; and 8:00 am, 9:30 am, 11:00 am, 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm on Friday, October 14.
