[Capdist-auditions] A Christams Carol the Musical

The Valatie Community Theatre announces a second round of auditions for
A Christmas Carol, The Musical directed by Gail Nadeem Helfer and
choreographed by Deborah Langenfeld Anthony.

 

Charles Dickens' classic gets the full Broadway treatment by the team of
Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast), Lynn Ahrens (Ragtime, Seussical) and
Mike Okrent (Crazy for You).  This musical adaptation of a timeless
story is told again with a heart warming musical score that appeals to
all ages.

 

The Director seeks additional actors of varying types and ages, all of
whom need to sing and move well to complete the cast.  Production dates
are December 9, 10, 11; 16, 17 and 18.  

 

AUDITION INFORMATION:  All auditions will be held at the Valatie
Community Theatre, 3031 Main Street, Valatie, NY 12184.

 

Auditions for children (7 years to 13 years)*

Friday  9/30:                                6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

 

Child actors without previous audition experience may use a traditional
holiday song/carol or another non-rock song that they know well.  Please
bring sheet music in the appropriate key. An accompanist will be
provided.  No singing a capella please. Children should be accompanied
by a parent.

 

Auditions for Teens and Adults *

Friday 9/30:                                 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

 

Audition Requirements:  

Auditioners are asked to sing a memorized non-rock song (in English) no
longer than 1 minute in length which shows their range.  Please bring
sheet music in the appropriate key; a piano accompanist will be
provided. No singing a capella please.  You will be asked to read a
short passage to determine your ability to interpret and project. This
will be provided at the audition.

 

* You can save time on audition day by bringing your resume and conflict
information with you.  You will be asked to list your conflicts at
auditions.

 

The Valatie Community Theatre has an open call casting policy.  All
roles are open, none are precast and everyone is encouraged to audition.
