Schenectady Light Opera Company is pleased to announce auditions for their upcoming March production of Rogers and Hammerstein’s Classic THE SOUND OF MUSIC!

AUDITION DATES AND TIMES
Audition forms and rehearsal conflict calendar can be found below, for those who would like to bring completed forms with you to the auditions.

CHILDREN’S AUDITIONS are complete.   We are not seeing anyone new for the roles of Gretl, Marta, Brigitta, Kurt, Louisa or Friedrich. 

ADULT AUDITIONS (including Leisl and Rolf):
Monday, December 10, 2012, Sign in at 6:30 pm, Auditions begin at 7:00 pm
Tuesday December 11, 2012, Sign in at 6:30 pm, Auditions begin at 7:00 pm

  a.. Auditions for all adult roles, including those interested in the roles of Leisl and Rolf. 
  b.. Please come prepared, with sheet music, to sing 16 to 32 measures of a classic musical theater song, not necessarily from the show (no pop or rock music, please). 
  c.. An accompanist will be provided. There will be no a capella singing. 
  d.. Headshots and résumés are requested, but not required. 
  e.. Some auditioners may be asked to stay to read from the script


CALL BACKS:
Saturday, December 15, 2012 at 12:00 pm

  a.. Children and adults may be invited to call backs to sing and/or read from the script. If called back, you will be notified if you need to prepare anything specific. 

LOCATION:
Schenectady Light Opera Company, 427 Franklin Street, Schenectady, NY (Please sign in on the 2nd floor of the Education Building)

PERFORMANCE DATES & TIMES: 
March 15-17 and 21-24, 2013 
Thur-Sat at 8 pm, Sundays at 2pm

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:

  a.. Rehearsals will start Wednesday, January 2, 2013 
  b.. We will rehearse Mon/Wed/Fri evenings, Sat afternoon… Exact times TBD 
  c.. Rehearsals WILL be scheduled over February school break

  d.. Tech Week March 10-14, 2012 
  e.. Please bring a list of all conflicts to auditions.
