Assistant to Producing Artistic Director

 

The Assistant to the Producing Artistic Director (PAD) is responsible for
ensuring that the quality of the theatre's artistic vision is met through
assisting the PAD and taking the lead in producing Capital Rep's theatre for
youth projects.  The job includes coordinating production needs for the PAD
and youth theatre projects, conducting local casting calls, preparing
content for collateral materials, including marketing and research projects
for youth theatre activities and writing dramaturgical materials for the
theatre's various publications.  The Assistant to the Producing Artistic
Director will work closely with the PAD to develop the expansion of the
theatre's "On the Go" touring productions and develop the theatre's New Play
development activities.  The job includes production, some grant writing and
administrative duties.  The ideal candidate should be an outgoing,
people-friendly, extremely well-organized, theatre practitioner with
excellent writing and communication skills. 

 

Criteria: 

            .  Minimum, BA in Theatre or Educational Theatre

            .  Comprehensive knowledge of theatre canon

            .  Experience in Theatre production, esp. as a Director or Stage
Manager

            .  Excellent writing skills

            .  Savvy computer skills:  word, excel, desktop publishing

            .  Experience researching 

            .  Basic knowledge NYS learning standards

            .  Some grant writing experience.
