CASTING for a reading of:
 
AMERICAN WAKE 
by Bruce J. Robinson
 
directed by 
Stewart J. Zully

This new American play will be performed at Columbia Greene Community College, Hudson, NY, on April 26, 2012
 
There will be two perfs., one exclusively for a history class during the day, and another for the public that evening at 7 PM


All roles require actors to be very comfortable with language- the play takes place in 1885
 
ULYSSES S. GRANT. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . the President and General – in his sixties; in his final days, haggard
SAMUEL CLEMENS. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . a/k/a Mark Twain – the famous author – nearly fifty; obviously, strong sense of humor
WILLIAM T. SHERMAN. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . the General – in his mid-sixties; must have good comic timing, heroic
ARTHUR DUBOIS. . . . . . . .... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . an African-American waiter, in his forties; proud, neat, efficient

There will be pay of $100 per actor
There will be one or two days of rehearsals; 3-4 hrs per day per schedules
This is a wonderful opportunity to present theater to college students and to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.  


Mr. Robinson is an award winning playwright who has had numerous productions off-broadway and at regional theaters.
Mr. Zully has directed/produced in New York, Los Angeles, Florida, and Canada.
