NYCB Children’s Auditions Set for March 18, 2012 at 2pm

New York City Ballet will conduct auditions for children’s roles in the ballets Firebird and Romeo & Juliet on Sunday, March 18 at the School of the Arts at the National Museum of Dance, 99 South Broadway, Saratoga Springs.  The auditions, conducted byNYCB’s assistant children’s ballet mistress DenaAbergel will commence at 2pm.  A copy of the application is available at www.dancemuseum.org   

Children are needed for the following roles:   

5 boys inRomeo & Juliet with at least 3 years ballet experience and 14 girls, 6 flagbearers and 2 little capebearers with 1-2 years of ballet experience for Firebird.

The two act ballet Romeo & Juliet, choreographed by Peter Martins, was last seen at SPAC five years ago and is based on Shakespeare’s famous play.  
Firebird, a stunningly beautiful ballet choreographed by George Balanchine features sets by the artist Marc Chagall.
