Mostly Harmless is excited to announce auditions for the second show of its
inaugural season,

*Where's Julie?*

A dark comedy about abortion, drug abuse, statutory rape, autism, alcohol
abuse, child abuse, teenage pregnancy, depression and immigration.
Intended for mature audiences.

"Where’s Julie?, a play written by Kennedy Center short-play award winner
Daniel Guyton, takes audiences on a journey through the lives and living
room of an exceptionally crazy American family!... If you enjoy the humor
of South Park or Family Guy, you are sure to enjoy Guyton’s dark comedies,
of which this play is one of the best." (Kat Reynolds, Savannah College of
Art & Design, 2009)

"I'll never forget seeing Where's Julie?... The Nintendo plugged into
nothingness, the audience, the involvement of the Stage Crew and their
Romeo and Juliet, the Catholic guilt. It took me back to being a kid in the
80s in a creepy, discomforting, and revelatory way." (Ryan Wilson,
University of Georgia, 2010)

Auditions will be held Wednesday, May 16th at 7pm at

Agudat Achim
2117 Union Street
Schenectady, NY 12309

We are currently targeting the first couple weekends in August for the
production.

Actors will be expected to cold read selections from the script. Brief
character descriptions are below.

Character List
MOM - loving to a fault, a bit melodramatic
DAD - alcoholic, easily confused
JEFF - video game addict, a bit challenged, Julie's younger brother
JULIE - lead female character, dealing with her problems and her family,
daughter of Mom and Dad
ALLISON - sarcastic, business minded, Julie's older (and wiser?) sister
HECTOR - a bit drugged out, shady, Julie's boyfriend
MARGARET - born again Christian, Julie's best friend
RUNNING CREW 1 & 2 - resentful stage crew, Laurel & Hardy-esque

Please note, this show contains material that may be found offensive,
including language, stereotyping, and situational humor and therefore, some
of the roles, although written as "teenagers", may be more well suited for
actors over 18 years of age. If you have any questions, please email
RichSagendorf at gmail.com. We look forward to seeing you at auditions!
