Point of View Players of Ohav are holding auditions for "A Shayna Maidel" (Beautiful Girl) on Wednesday, Oct 10th and Thursday, October 11th at Congregation Ohav Shalom, 113 Krumkill Rd, Albany at 6:30 pm in the auditiorium.

Synpsis of story:A powerful, haunting and deeply affectiing portrait of a family, which conveys the aftermath of the Holocaust through a poignant imaginatively conceived examination of one divided family's experience.  A tribute to the sustaining power of family.

Cast of Characters:
Rose, a young woman - early to mid 20s -  who was taken out of Poland by her father when she was a small child, therefore, grew up in Manhattan and is completely "Americanized"

Lucia, her sister - late 20s - mid 30's - a Holocaust survivor who arrives as a young adult in America, unsure yet hopeful of a future life amidst all her strange surroundings and cultural differences.  Speaks in accented English. ;

Mordecai - father of Rose and Lucia, 50 + , a Polish immigrant who has spent the last nearly 20 years in America.  Also speaks in accented English.

Duvid - husband of Lucia, newly arrives from Poland - late 20's to late 30's - speaks in accented English

Mama - mother of Rose and Lucia.

Dates of Production:  Thursday, 1/24/13 - 7pm, Saturday, 1/26/13 - 7pm and Sunday 1/27/13 - 1 pm matinee.
