Confetti Stage announces auditions for CONFETTI FEST 9

Sunday, 8/25, and Monday, 8/26

Auditions begin at 7:00pm

Albany Masonic Hall, 67 Corning Place, Albany



No monologues necessary.  Actors will be asked to read from sides.  We are
seeking a diverse group of actors to cast a variety of roles.



Rehearsals to begin 9/3, rehearsal schedule will be determined by
individual shows.

Please be ready to list any rehearsal conflicts you have when you come to
the audition.



Actors must be available for tech week and performance dates:

Tech week dates: 10/12-10/16 (dark 10/17)

Performance dates: 10/18-19, 24-26 @ 7:30pm, 10/20 @ 2pm


The shows and character lists:


AGNES’ BIRTHDAY by Valerie Kavanaugh

Directed by Lee Lattimer

3 mature women (in their 60s or older)

Francine – A divorced writer for the small-town paper. Energetic and aware,
a take-charge type.

Anna – A care-free and dreamy housewife who has been a widow for 3 years.
An aged hippie or gypsy type.

Agnes – A tasteful and elegant lady who never married. Has lived in the
small town all her life, but is ready for traveling.


CASTING CALL by Matthew Side

Directed by David DiPaola

Wendell Braunstein – Young, new actor in New York

Jerry Silver – slightly older, trying to make it as an actor; NYC native

Jenny Flowers – a young actress

Ethel – Older woman, frumpy, Tony's stage manager

Johnny Sparkle – up-and-coming actor, with a ridiculous look and a bad
British accent

Julian – young, stylish, flamboyant, Tony's personal assistant

Tony Romero – casting director



COVER TO COVER by Stephen Henel

Directed by Neilson R. Jones

Darryl – A novelist, struggling to finish the third novel in his fantasy
series

Roger – A clean-cut, younger writer brought in to help Darryl finish his
novel

Julie – Darryl’s editor at Harper-Collins

Tessa – A character in Darryl’s novel

Orlando – A character in Darryl’s novel



FACE THE MUSIC AND DANCE by Lauren Ogden

Directed by Matthew Teichner

Jim – mid-30s...

Missy – mid-20s...

Bartender – any age...

Nell – 30


MIRROR BOWL by Sunny da Silva

Directed by Linda Shirey; Assistant directed by Sheila O’Shea

2 actors, age and gender are non-specific


Miss Dickinson Entertains at Home by Marty Egan

Directed by Barbara Davis-Dickman and Brian McBride Land

Miss Dickinson, Poet – Deceased

Phil, a man in his 30s – Alive

Rosie, a woman in her 30s – Very much alive


The Man Upstairs by Fred Sahner

Directed by Jen Werner

Marge – 40s, a strong woman suddenly faced with more problems than she can
handle. When every aspect of her life is under attack, she is hard-pressed
to maintain her hopes for a better life.

Nick – 40s. Has his own life, including a career and family. He is mostly
missing when needed.



Violence in the Workplace by Justin Alvis

Directed by Tom Brennan

Justin – 21-40, office worker; shares small office with Glen

Glen – 21-40, office worker; shares small office with Justin

Kat – 21-50, Graphic Designer; works on floor above Justin & Glen

Julie – 21-50, Office worker found hiding in bathroom, ran from shooter

Phil – 25-50, The IT guy; the shooter
