Seeking actors for a reading of YEARS OF SKY, by Barbara Blatner, winner of this year's Columbia Greene Playwrights Project 2013, selected from a nationwide search. The play recently premiered at New York's 59 E 59 theater complex. Marking the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's death, this striking drama follows the thirty-year love affair between a bi-racial couple. Teenagers David and Stace plan to spend their first night together while watching JFK's motorcade come through Dallas, but history intervenes and their lives are changed forever. The reading will be directed by Stewart J. Zully at Columbia Greene Community College in Hudson, New York on April 27, 2013.

Seeking:

DAVID: African American male, ages in the play from late teens to twenties to late forties. Seeking an experienced actor who can handle a demanding role, with the naivete of youth, a sense of foreboding and danger in his twenties, and the character of a somewhat scarred and mature man in his forties. Capable of a southern accent a plus. Equity or non-Equity.

STACE: White female. Like David, must age in the play from late teens to twenties to late forties. Demanding role that requires innocence, wonder, and ultimately confusion and disappointment. Like David, a very special, demanding role for an experienced actor. Capable of a southern accent a plus. Equity or non-Equity.

BEN: African American male. Late forties to early fifties. David's father, Ben is a small shop owner who has little patience for his son's militant inclinations. Actor must be able to have a strong stage presence and have good comic timing. Equity or non-Equity.

Send pictures and resumes by March 27, 2013 to Stewart J. Zully at playwrightworks at aol.com.
Auditions will be set up from submissions.
These are paid positions.
