[Capdist-auditions] Mac-Haydn Theatre -- children's auditions

            The Mac-Haydn Theatre will hold auditions on Saturday, April 6,
to fill roles for youngsters needed in the 45th Anniversary season shows.

            Girls who sing and move well will be cast as Baby June and Baby
Louise in *Gypsy*, and both boys and girls are needed to appear in scenes
and songs in the beginning of the show.

            A waif-like girl is needed for an important role with a song
that demands an exceptional voice in the TBA show, which is a powerful
musical classic new to the Mac-Haydn stage.  A small boy is also needed in
that show, to play a ragamuffin street wise youth.

            Other children may be cast in children’s theatre shows
throughout the season.

            Please prepare a short song, and bring music, in your key. An
accompanist is provided.  Children will also be led in a short, simple
movement call. Call-backs may be held at a later date for some of the roles.

            Rehearsals for the TBA show start on July 5, with performances
July 25 through August 4. *Gypsy* rehearsals will begin August 9; the show
runs August 22 through September 1.   Children will not need to be at the
theatre all day, every day during the rehearsal time; they will be required
to attend all rehearsals during the opening week of the show and be at all
performances.

            The auditions will be held at the Mary E. Dardess Elementary
School, off Woodbridge Ave. in Chatham (turn into the school access road
near the railroad tracks), from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
