Castand Crew needed for Drums Along the Mohawk Outdoor Drama
There will be four performances of WalterD. Edmond’s classic tale, Drums Along the Mohawk, produced and adapted for thestage by Kyle Jenks. This story takes place in 1777 and recounts the events ofthe American Revolution as it pertained to inhabitants of the Mohawk Valley ofupstate NY.

Rehearsals for the first performanceweekend will be conducted from July 13th through July 26th at TawasenthaPark in Guilderland. NY. Please plan for at least one other rehearsal between theperformance weekends. Dress rehearsal for August 3-4 will be in the morning ofAug. 3, 2013 at Gelston Castle Estate.
Actors will be paid a stipend at thecompletion of the run. Stipend rates vary with the size of the role performed.
Auditions will be by appointment only. Please send headshot and resume to kylejenks at datmod.com. After receipt of headshot and resume, youwill be contacted for an audition appointment.
Talent will be asked to read from thescript for most parts.
We will be casting for the following roles:
GIL MARTIN:
· Lead male: 20’s: a bit naïve and innocent. Hard worker, in love with hiswife. Wants a family and to live a decent life. Singing ability a plus.
NICHOLAS HERKIMER
· Hero: 49- 53 years old. Affluent but humble father figure with acommanding presence. Head of the TryonCounty Militia. Head of the Committee of Safety. Rank: Brigadier General. Appointedby Maj. General Philip Schuyler in Albany. Rock of the Mohawk Valley. Belovedby the Mohawk Valley patriots. Unshakeable patriot. Optimal but not necessary:About 6’ tall. Singing ability a plus but not a necessity.
BRIGADIERGENERAL BENEDICT ARNOLD
· America’s best fighting general. A favorite of “General George Washington.Brash, confident, yet civilized and a steadfast patriot.
MRS. DEMOOTH
· 40’s: Is sweet and supportive of her husband and the patriot viewpointbut we learn she has a conniving side. Optimal if she is petite.
COL. BARRY ST. LEGER
· Falsely confident, a bit arrogant British Colonel. Age: Early 30’s. Agood formal British accent is a plus but not necessary.
SIR JOHN JOHNSON
· Falsely confident, a bit arrogant Tory leader. [Tory=American colonist loyal to theBritish Crown]. Age: Early 30’s.
ENSIGNWALTER BUTLER
· Son of the Mohawk Valley’s most powerful and prominent Tory JohnButler. [Tory=American colonist loyal tothe British Crown]. Age: 20’s to early30’s. Confident, intelligent, brash, a ladies man. A lawyer by profession. Excellent motivator and a man of means. Canbe ruthless.
