[Steamer No.10 Theatre]

Starting Saturday, Nov. 2 -- Steamer Teens -- a class experience 
specifically for teens. *

*Running Nov. 2, 9, 16, 23 -- 9:am to Noon**
Cost: $30/Session -- $100 for all four sessions*

This is an introductory course in scene study and character development 
for high school students. Classes consist of physical warm-ups, theatre 
games, cold readings, scene analysis, and small group performances. 
During the four week run we will examine works by various playwrights 
throughout history and explore what links them together and the 
differences that set them apart.

Different scenes will be presented each week and actors will be paired 
up accordingly. Through close text analysis, actors will be encouraged 
to block and to direct their own scene, as well as develop their 
assigned character. They will be able to answer important questions 
about their characters:What is their motivation and/or overall objective 
in the scene? What do they want? What is their relationship to the other 
persons in the scene? Through this process, actors will hone their 
acting skills; develop a better understanding of the production process 
and an appreciation for the steps it entails.
