A romantic comedy by John Cariani
This off-beat, whimsical comedy, explores the beginnings and occasional endings of love.  Each of the nine vignettes occurs on the same winter night, in a small fictional town in Northern Maine. The stories, illuminated by the magical glow of the Northern Lights, are filled with tender charm, quirky humor and odd twists. Yet there is a realness to these tales that resonates with audiences all over the country, making it one of the most produced plays in the U.S.
19 roles available.10 women and 9 men. Ages are flexible. (Some actors will be asked to play more than one role.) 
All adults are encouraged to attend the audition which will consist of reading from the script.
Rehearsal schedule depends on cast availability.
Production Dates: Oct. 10-12 & 17-19.

PROLOGUE / INTERLOGUE / EPILOGUE - 
Pete 
Ginette, a couple who have been dating for a little while.
 
THIS HURTS -
Marvalyn: a woman who is very good at protecting herself.
Steve, an open, kind fellow whose brother protects him.
 
GETTING IT BACK - 
Gayle and Lendall, longtime girlfriend and boyfriend.
 
THEY FELL - 
Randy and Chad, two "County boys."
 
STORY OF HOPE - 
Hope, who has traveled the world.
Man, who has not.
 
HER HEART - 
East, a repairman.
Glory, a hiker.
 
SAD AND GLAD - 
Jimmy, a heating and cooling guy. 
Sandrine, his ex-girlfriend.
Waitress
 
WHERE IT WENT - 
Phil, a working man.
Marci, his hardworking wife.
 
SEEING THE THING - 
Rhonda, a tough woman. 
Dave, the not-so-tough man who loves her.
