*REMINDER! March 2nd & 3rd, 7-9pm *

*Theater Voices Auditions* for a staged reading of "HEROES by Gerald
Sibleyras, translated by Tom Stoppard, and directed by David Bunce, on *Sunday,
March 2 from 7-9pm, and Monday, March 3 from 7-9pm.*

Steamer No. 10 Theatre, 500 Western Avenue, Albany - corner of West
Lawrence Street.

Actors will be asked to read scenes from the play.  Please arrive on time
and be prepared to stay.



Set in 1959 Paris, three older men, all veterans of WWI who live in a
veteran's retirement home, spend their days together fiercely guarding
against imagined interlopers, bickering, grousing about the staff, dreaming
of comely women, and fantasizing about escape.



Needed: 3 men aged 72-74

*Henri*, 72, claims to be the only one really in touch with reality,
resident 25 years, the careful optimist, a bow-tied, precise planner prone
to too much logic.



*Gustave*, 74, claims to be the man of action, resident 6 months, tries to
be a cynic but it's not in his big heart, still strong, grouses about his
daily routine of "tepid soup," claims to be a world traveler of noble
parentage whose know-it-all facade conceals his terror of the outside
world.



*Philippe,* 73, claims to be the lover, resident 10 years, is mildly
paranoid that the nun in charge might be trying to do away with him. A
self-proclaimed womanizer, estranged from his family, who tries to act as a
buffer between the other two men. Hampered by old German shrapnel in his
skull, he occasionally passes out.
