The Local Actors Guild of Saratoga is proud to announce their auditions for Charles Busch’s “Psycho Beach Party”. Auditions will be held on 



Monday March 3rd, 7pm at The Saratoga Arts Center, 320 Broadway, Saratoga Springs



"Psycho Beach Party" is a comic trash compactor of a play that takes an already silly genre - early 1960's surf and beach blanket movies - and sends it to camp heaven. “Gidget”, Frankie and Annette beach party epics and Hitchcock psychological suspense thrillers such as “Spellbound” and “Marnie” are given a shotgun marriage. Chicklet Forrest, a teenage tomboy, desperately wants to be part of the surf crowd on Malibu Beach in 1962. One thing getting in her way is her unfortunate tendency towards split personalities. Among them is a black check out girl, an elderly radio talk show hostess, a male model named Steve and the accounting firm of Edelman and Edelman. Her most dangerous alter ego is a sexually voracious vixen named Ann Bowman who has nothing less than world domination on her mind. 



We are looking for comedic actors to fill 8 roles. Actors will read sides from the script.



Character Breakdown



The Girls:



Chicklet -  A Gidget-like surfer girl and she shares Gidget's desperate longing to be accepted by the beach-bumming surfer guys. She also has split personalities that tend to come out.



Bernadine – Chicklet’s bookworm best friend



Marvel Ann – Boy crazy surfer chick



Dee-Dee – Another boy crazy surfer chick



The Boys:



Kanaka - A surfer so cool he once rode "the killer wave off the coast of Bali" in handcuffs



Yo-yo – Typical surfer dude



Nicky – Typical surfer dude



Provoloney – Italian surfer dude



Star Cat – Marvel Ann’s boyfriend



*The roles of Bettina & Mrs. Forrest have already been cast



Performances are May 10, 11, 17 & 18. Rehearsals start March 16th and will be Sunday, Monday & Wednesday evenings in Saratoga. Any questions please contactlocalactorsguild at gmail.com
