TROY CIVIC THEATRE PRESENTS
"Much Ado About Nothing"
Directed by Laura Darling

Show Dates: July 11-13 & 18-19

Audition Dates:
March 25 & 26 at the Troy Italian Community Center, 7 PM. Sign in begins at
6:30
Callbacks will be on March 28 at 7 PM.
*Alternative Audition times available upon request*

Rehearsals will begin in April.

Please come prepared with a one minute Shakespearean monologue to showcase
your language comprehension. Memorization is not required. Does not have to
be from Much Ado.

Sides will be available from the show and cold readings will be done at the
director's request. Please inform the director at the time of your audition
of any other talents you have, such as singing, dancing or playing an
instrument.

Optional: Feel free to bring a theatrical resume and headshot.

All roles are open and some will be cast gender-blind

Benedick, a fun loving, witty and handsome man, a sworn bachelor and
companion of Don Pedro.
Beatrice, a head strong woman. Highly intelligent and a niece of Leonato.
Hero, daughter of Leonato. A sweet and innocent girl, very naïve.
Don Pedro, Prince of Aragon. Fiercely loyal to his friends.
Don John, "the Bastard Prince," brother of Don Pedro. The conniving bad
guy, seeks to ruin anyone's happiness.
Claudio, of Florence; a count, companion of Don Pedro, friend to Benedick.
A naïve hopeless romantic.
Dogberry, the constable in charge of Messina's night watch, a bumbling fool
at times.
Leonato, governor of Messina; Hero's father.
Antonio, brother of Leonato.
Borachio, follower of Don John.
Margaret, waiting-gentlewoman attendant on Hero.
Ursula, waiting-gentlewoman attendant on Hero.
Verges, the Headborough, Dogberry's partner
Balthasar, attendant on Don Pedro, a singer.
Friar Francis, a priest.
A Sexton, the judge of the trial of Borachio
Conrade, follower of Don John.
A Boy, serving Benedick
The Watch, watchmen of Messina
Several Attendants and Messengers
