"Rabbit Hole" by David Lindsay-Abaire is the touching story of Becca and Howie, a couple trying to recover from the accidental death of their four-year-old son, Danny. Eight months later, in spite of the best intended support of Becca's mother Nat and sister Izzy, they are still struggling with grief and drifting perilously apart. When Izzy announces that she is pregnant, everyone must come to terms with the new life in the family and what it takes to move on. "Rabbit Hole" is deeply humane, heart-rending and surprisingly funny.

(CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS)

Becca-(In her mid to late thirties or early forties). Married to Howie. She is usually a very responsible and sensible person, but she makes some harsh decisions throughout the play. She has long since been defined by her role as wife and mother. In the wake of her son's death, she seems to have shut down emotionally, but is trying desperately to move forward.

Howie-( In his mid to late thirties or early forties). Married to Becca. He is very patient but is equally devastated by the loss of his son. In spite of bouts of anger and depression, he is ready to move on with life.

Izzy- ( Becca's irresponsible but well-wishing younger sister) who is pregnant throughout the duration of the play. She is funny, endearing and full of personality though perhaps a little rough around the edges.

Nat- (Becca and Izzy's mother, mid-sixties.) She is the voice of reason for her daughters. She is a strong woman with a quirky exterior that overlays suffering of her own. The sadness of her past is balanced by wisdom, wit and charm.

Jason Willette- (The seventeen-year-old boy) who accidentally hit Danny with his car. He is coping with the weight of being responsible for a life changing tragedy. As part of his grieving process, he writes a story in Danny's memory.
