UPDATE! Please note the changes to audition dates!!!
Come out and audition for “Orpheus and Eurydice, or How Orpheus Got His
Groove Back” written by James Callaghan, presented by Mostly Harmless.
This is a retelling of the classic tale of love and loss, but with a modern
voice and an excellent sense of humor, written by a local playwright.
Auditions are coming up for this fun and hilarious play.
There's been a slight change in schedule regarding the auditions. Auditions
are now on Wednesday 4/29 at 7pm. There will be callbacks if necessary on
Monday 5/4 at 7pm. If you are unable to make the night of auditions
(4/29), please contact Rich at richsagendorf at gmail.com to make arrangements
to audition. Also, please let us know at auditions if you would be unable
to attend callbacks.
Auditions will be held at:
School of the Northeast
1821 Hamburg St
Schenectady, NY 12304
Sides will be provided at the audition.
The performance dates are the weekends of 7/30-8/1 and 8/6-8/8.
Rehearsals will start in the weeks following auditions. Rehearsal schedule
will be dependant on the cast and their conflicts.
These are all big character roles and a lot of fun!
Characters:
Orpheus, a poet, the hero
Eurydice, daughter of Apollo, the heroine
Daphne, sweet but not the smartest, a friend to Eurydice
Deianira, in touch with her "inner goddess", princess of Calydon
Aristaeus, a lusty satyr
Jason, of argonaut fame, a friend to Orpheus
Heracles, extraordinarily strong adventurer, a friend to Orpheus
Meleager, a friend to Orpheus and brother to Deianira
Medea, prophesier and paramour to Jason
Hades, god of wealth and king of the underworld
Apollo, god of the sun and music, and father to Eurydice
Persephone, goddess of the springtime and queen of the underworld
Dionysius, god of wine and theater, and father to Orpheus
Calliope, muse of epic poetry, and mother to Orpheus
Hecate, goddess of sorcery
Please note, this show contains adult humour, and therefore is not suitable
for children.Those aged 16 and up may audition, but we ask for parental
permission if you are cast.

great show!
